Founded in France in 1907 and moving its headquarters to Montreal, Canada in 1997, the International Society of Urology (SIU) is an international professional organization serving urologists around the world, known as the "United Nations" of urology, with members from more than 130 countries and regions. The society regularly holds academic exchanges and physician education and training around the world, aiming to promote the dissemination of technology and standards worldwide and promote the common progress of the academic level of urology in the world.
Our New President ---- Prof. Xie in This Ceremony
The inauguration ceremony was held via video link in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province and Montreal, Canada. The presidium of the conference awarded Professor Xie the SIU Chairman Medal for the first time by connecting to Professor Xie, and Professor Xie delivered an inaugural speech online, in which he quoted Confucius's famous saying "If you go three, you will have my master", saying that we will do our best to cooperate and communicate with urology colleagues all over the world, seek common ground while reserving differences, seek win-win results, and jointly promote the development of the field of urology. He expressed his hope to bring together urologists from all over the world to establish an "international community of destiny for urologists", strengthen cooperation and share the future! After the speech, Professor Jean de la Rosette, Secretary General of SIU, immediately called to express warm congratulations, calling Professor Xie's speech "Very strong and powerful", and saying that he would strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese urologists under the leadership of Professor Xie, so that the international urology field could listen to the "Chinese voice". About Prof. Xie's Career
Professor Xie Liping focuses on the research of prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. He has been thinking hard about how better surgery can reduce the pain of his patients, and God always favors those who study hard. Through a large number of clinical practices, Professor Xie Liping finally found a new method to vaporize and remove prostatic hyperplastic tissue with plasma button-shaped electrodes.
He pioneered transurethral vaporization enucleation (TVERP), transurethral vaporization enucleation (TVEP) and ultrasound-navigated precision transurethral vaporization enucleation (US-TVERP/TVEP) for the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia, significantly improving the efficacy and surgical safety of prostatic hyperplasia.
His surgical demonstrations have penetrated into 30 provinces, and he has been invited to give surgical demonstrations in Germany and other countries for 6 consecutive years, and has been highly praised and affirmed by international peers. SIU specializes in producing surgical video tutorials to promote to the world on its continuing education website. At the same time, a large number of urologists at home and abroad have been trained to master this series of innovative technologies, benefiting many patients with prostatic hyperplasia. In 2019, a multi-functional prostatic enucleation knife (Dayu knife) and a series of innovative technologies integrating the functions of enucleation, electrocoagulation, vaporization and cutting were newly developed to promote prostatic hyperplasia and enucleation surgery more scientific, accurate and easier to learn. Professor Xie cooperated with his German counterparts to jointly develop ONNA's artificial intelligence prostate cancer early diagnosis technology, which significantly improved the early diagnosis rate of prostate cancer. He has published 197 papers in international academic journals, has 15 patents, serves as the chief investigator of the international multi-center research project on adjuvant endocrine therapy immediately after prostate cancer surgery, participates in the compilation of a number of guidelines and serves as the editor-in-chief of the latest edition of the "Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia in China", and was named "China's Highly Cited Scholar" in 2020 and 2021 by ELSEVIER Press.
